How to create Document Folders?

This article offers a step-by-step overview on how to create document folders and select which type of user has permission to view its files

Updated over a week ago

To create folders and upload documents on the HOA Messenger platform, you must first upgrade to a premium subscription. Once upgraded, access the Documents Screen and click "Add Folders" to create a new folder. Name the folder and set permissions for users who will have access to it. Upload documents by dragging and dropping or selecting from your computer. Below is a visual guide to each step of the process:

Step 1: Navigate to the Documents Screen & Click on "Add Folder"

Step 2: Upgrade to Premium Subscription

Before you can create folders on the HOA Messenger platform, you must first upgrade to a premium subscription. To do this, navigate to the account settings and follow the prompts to upgrade your account.

Step 3: Name the Folder

A prompt will appear asking you to name your new folder. Enter an appropriate name for the folder and click "Next".

Step 4: Select Permissions

After naming the folder, select which users will have access to the documents within the newly created folder. You can grant document viewing permissions to all user categories, which includes Managers (Required), Residents, and Tenants. Or you can limit document viewing permissions to Managers and Residents, or only Managers. After selecting the appropriate permissions, click "Create".

Step 5: Navigate to the newly created folder

Once the folder is created you will be able to see the folder's name and its permitted viewers on the documents screen. View the folder's contents by clicking on the folder icon or its name.

Step 6: Upload Documents

Now that your folder has been created, you can upload documents to it. You can either drag and drop documents directly onto the Documents Screen or click on the upload box and select a file from your computer. It is recommended that you upload PDF documents for the best user experience.

After creating a folder using via your Manager Profile on the web application, you will be able to view it on the mobile app, an example of which is shown below.
