Deactivating Co-Managers

How do I deactivate a Co-Manager?

  1. Log in to your HOA Messenger account

  2. Click on "People" in the left navigation menu

  3. Select "Co-Managers" from the submenu

  4. Locate the Co-Manager you wish to deactivate

  5. Click the pencil/edit icon next to their name

  6. In the "Edit Profile" popup that appears, click the red "Deactivate from this HOA" button

Can I temporarily suspend a Co-Manager's access?

  • No, the system currently only allows for complete deactivation. Co-Managers either have full access or no access. There is no temporary suspension option.

Can I limit what a Co-Manager can access instead of deactivating them?

  • No, HOA Messenger does not currently offer role-based permissions or partial access. Co-Managers have full administrative access when active. If you need limited access, deactivation is your only option.

Who can deactivate Co-Managers?

  • Only the Owner (primary administrator) of the HOA account can deactivate Co-Managers.

Is deactivation permanent?

  • No, Co-managers can join again as needed if they have the access code.

When should I deactivate a Co-Manager?

Common scenarios for deactivation include:

  • A board member's term has ended

  • A property manager is no longer working with your HOA

I don't see the edit (pencil) icon next to the Co-Manager's name

  • This typically means you are not logged in as the Owner. Only the Owner account can see and use the edit icon to deactivate Co-Managers.

The "Deactivate from this HOA" button is not working

  • Try refreshing your browser and attempting the process again. If the issue persists, log out and log back in, or contact HOA Messenger support.

I need to deactivate the Owner account

  • The Owner account cannot be deactivated through the standard interface. Contact HOA Messenger support directly for assistance with transferring or removing Owner access.

Can a Co-Manager deactivate themselves?

  • No, Co-Managers cannot deactivate themselves. Only the Owner can deactivate Co-Managers.

How do I know who has Co-Manager access to my HOA?

To view all active Co-Managers:

  1. Click on "People" in the left navigation menu

  2. Select "Co-Managers" from the submenu

  3. Review the list of active Co-Managers
